Our owner, Carol Dickson, founded HOA Accounting Professionals to address a need she saw in the industry. Typically, HOA service providers tend to cater to large, well-paying clients while ignoring the smaller HOAs. Carol is changing that by providing superior services, coupled with the personal attention every client deserves, regardless of the size of the HOA.
Carol has more than ten years’ experience in HOA accounting in California, acting as the Controller for over 100 associations. In addition, she has served as a consultant to several HOA accounting firms, giving her experience with another 100+ associations. She has worked one-on-one with associations of all sizes from six units to 500 units.
Prior to her experience with HOAs, Carol has five years’ accounting experience with a Fortune 500 company, as well as extensive accounting experience in commercial property development.
As a professional accountant, Carol earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Accounting and holds a Certified Public Accountant certificate. This educational background, along with her HOA experience, ensures that all financial transactions and reports are in full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), as well as with the Davis-Stirling Act, the California law that governs homeowners associations.
